The Starbound is the largest factory trawler constructed entirely in the United States and features a steel hull and aluminum wheelhouse.

The vessel displaces over 3500 tons, including a freezer fish hold capacity of 1200 tons. The fish product is typically caught with trawl gear, processed through the factory fillet lines, blast frozen and stowed in the hold all within a matter of hours from swimming in the sea.
